SUMMARY
General Description :
Facility Managers are directly responsible for the overall health and readiness of their assigned facility. They are integral to the coordination and management of operations, maintenance, and improvements across the Spaceport’s facilities, which include but are not limited to launch sites, processing facilities, the UAS Airfield, customer leased facilities, and administrative buildings. This experienced-level position plans and coordinates all day-to-day operations and maintenance activities at these facilities in order to support all mission and operational demands. Additionally, the Facility Manager collaborates with internal and external teams, to ensure all assigned facility projects are executed per requirements and specifications to meet all technical, schedule, and cost parameters. Furthermore, this position leads the development and execution of all maintenance programs to ensure that the facility meets all readiness standards.
Responsibilities and Duties :
- Position is responsible for the overall health and readiness of the assigned facility, ensuring that all systems are maintained and functional to support the end-customer.
- Assists in the development and execution of the facility maintenance plan, ensuring the site is proactively maintained and functional to support all assigned missions.
- Prioritizes, coordinates, and leads scheduling efforts for all maintenance and operational activities at the facility, ensuring deconfliction of all resources to support timely maintenance evolutions.
- Formulates monthly, weekly, and daily scheduling projections to proactively inform the Integrated Schedule and resolve any obstacles with customer operations and activities.
- Assists in the development and management of the yearly facility budget; prioritizes and tracks expenditures throughout the year for all planned and un-planned maintenance actions.
- Seamlessly communicates with members of other Departments to request and coordinate resources in support of all site activities.
- Coordinates and oversees field activities for both internal labor and contractors in the execution of daily maintenance actions and or facility modifications, ensuring that all are conducted safely and in accordance with all company processes and procedures.
- Actively participates in the organization’s project and design review process, recommending and / or reviewing all requests for facility alterations or modifications
- When assigned an approved project, develops a project plan, coordinates with adjacent Departments, and executes within all technical, schedule, and budget parameters.
- Expertly Leverages all company systems in the accomplishment of daily duties, including but not limited to the Work Order Module, Documentation Management Module, Project Module, Scheduling software, Purchase Request Module, and Microsoft applications.
- Conducts periodic field inspections to assess conformance with all design parameters, operational requirements, and safety protocols; identifies deficiencies and makes formal report of findings.
- Develop, track, analyze, and report metrics to observe trends that effect the health and readiness of the site; areas include but are not limited to budget projections, work order counts, and non- conformance closures.
- Coordinates with customers, vendors, and security for badging and facility access; verifies all personnel who access the site are properly trained, badged and / or escorted.
- Lead, attend, or contribute to reviews and briefings with the customer and executive-level management, as required.
- Support site visits and tours for public relations or business development events, answering operational and technical support questions, as needed.
- Provides general facility oversight and support during customer operations and produces daily status reports, as needed.
- If required, secure and maintain a Security Clearance.
- Provides mentored experience and training to Level 1 Facility Managers, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
General Education :
College : Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
Major : Engineering, Business, or technical field
Job-Related Experience : At least 8 years of direct, practical work experience managing complex sites, facilities, projects, or programs. A Bachelor’s Degree may substitute for 4 years of experience. An Associate’s Degree may substitute for 2 years of experience.
Certifications : Position may require the candidate to secure and maintain a Security Clearance. Licenses, etc. : Valid driver's license is necessary when operating a vehicle while on agency business.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Knowledge :
Knowledge of technical operations and or complex maintenance programs.Knowledge of operational support functions such as logistics, procurement, contracts, equipment maintenance, quality assurance-related process control systems, safety programs related to industrial operations, and environmental regulations as applied to support functions is desired.Skills :

This position requires working outside in an industrial work environment, with occasional work in a traditional office setting. The employee must be able to navigate safely in a complex industrial environment with exposure to items such as metal work stands, high pressure piping, and cryogenic systems.
Work Environment :
Work environment involves significant risks with exposure to potentially dangerous or extremely adverse conditions which require a range of safety and other precautions, e.g. fieldwork on launch pads, near high pressure and cryogenic systems, near extremely energetic materials. The employee is occasionally exposed outdoor weather conditions and may work near moving mechanical parts.
Must be able to obtain and maintain eligibility for issuance of a NASA credential.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
