Position Overview
The Data Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring data integrity, consistency, and accuracy across Five Star Franchising’s multi-brand home-services platform. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this position will be responsible for maintaining and validating our data warehouse, writing and optimizing queries and reports, and ensuring analytical consistency across all franchise brands. In addition to supporting ongoing operational reporting, this role will be instrumental in preparing and validating data for external audits, Quality of Earnings (QoE) engagements, and due-diligence requests related to potential company transactions.
This is a full time position requiring the candidate to work from our offices located in Springville, Utah a minimum of four days per week.
Key Responsibilities :
Data Management & Integrity
- Maintain, monitor, and improve the accuracy and completeness of data within the company’s data warehouse.
- Partner with brand-level operations and IT to ensure data pipelines from brand systems (e.g., CRM, POS, accounting) are properly maintained and validated.
- Develop and execute data quality audits and reconciliation processes to identify and correct data anomalies.
Reporting & Analytics
Write, maintain, and optimize SQL queries and reports to extract and present data for business leaders.Build and maintain dashboards and standardized reports used by executives, brand presidents, and the finance team.Ensure consistent definitions and calculations are used across reports (e.g., revenue, active locations, leads, appointments, close rates, etc.).Review reports prepared by others for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established data definitions.Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Finance, Accounting, Brand Operations, and Technology teams to align data needs and reporting priorities.Support executive requests for ad hoc data analysis and scenario modeling.Contribute to data-governance initiatives to drive data standardization across all brands.Transaction Readiness & External Engagements
Prepare and validate datasets used for QoE, audit, and due-diligence processes.Collaborate with finance, accounting, and external advisors to ensure timely and accurate data delivery during transaction processes.Assist in documenting data definitions, lineage, and assumptions to facilitate understanding by external stakeholders.Qualifications : Required
Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field.3+ years of experience in data analytics or business intelligence, ideally within a multi-unit, franchise, or platform business.Advanced proficiency in SQL (query optimization, joins, aggregates, and data validation).Strong experience with reporting and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar).Excellent attention to detail and a proven track record of ensuring data accuracy.Strong understanding of relational databases, ETL concepts, and data modeling.Excellent communication skills — able to translate technical findings into business-relevant insights.Preferred
Experience with home-services, franchising, or private-equity-backed portfolio companies.Familiarity with financial systems (NetSuite, QuickBooks, etc.) and CRM or franchise-management tools.Experience supporting due diligence, audits, or Quality of Earnings processes.Working knowledge of Python or R for data cleaning and analysis.Attributes of the Ideal Candidate
