Certified Outpatient Coding Specialist

A company is looking for an Outpatient Coding Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

Abstract clinical information from medical records and assign appropriate ICD-10 and / or CPT-4 codes

Work with coding databases and confirm DRG assignments

Input and maintain data for state or other reporting requirements

Required Qualifications

Associate degree may be required

AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or AHIMA CCS certification typically required

4+ years of related experience preferred

Proficiency in coding multiple specialties

Additional credentials may be beneficial
