Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center is the largest hospital in Wisconsin and offers innovative care to patients with a 24 / 7 heart-care team. You will be a crucial part of the operating room team, contributing to exceptional patient care through your attention to detail and ability to thrive in fast-paced situations.
Schedule / Hours : Full-time, evening shift with options for 8 or 10-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, including on-call requirements predominantly overnight (approximately 5-8 call slots and 1-2 weekend call slots every 8 weeks). You will be expected to arrive within 30 minutes for on-call duties.
Major Responsibilities :
Prepare and maintain a clean and efficient operating room environment, ensuring optimal patient care through aseptic techniques.Assist in various surgical procedures, demonstrating knowledge of different types of operations.Set up the operating room for each case, ensuring the availability of necessary equipment and supplies.Act as a Second Assistant as required during surgical procedures.Communicate effectively with the team regarding equipment and supply needs.Transport patients and equipment as necessary while observing safety protocols.Ensure optimal management of specialty carts and items, checking for sterility and functionality.Maintain knowledge of age-specific patient care needs.Licensure, Registration, and Certification Required :
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, required within 6 months.Education :
Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program is required.Experience :
No prior experience is necessary.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Understanding of aseptic techniques and surgical procedure requirements.Familiarity with operating room equipment and techniques.Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.Basic computer proficiency is required.Physical Requirements :
