Certified Ophthalmic Technician / Assistant (COT / COA)
The Role
Medical Eye Associates is seeking a skilled and motivated Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) to join our patient-centered ophthalmology team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced technician who values excellence in patient care, clinical efficiency, and professional growth.
What You’ll Do
Perform comprehensive patient workups, including visual acuity testing, tonometry, refractions, and diagnostic imaging.
Assist in minor procedures and surgical preparations.
Accurately document findings and coordinate care using our EMR (ModMed).
Support physicians by anticipating their needs and ensuring smooth patient flow.
Maintain equipment, supplies, and exam rooms to uphold the highest clinical standards.
Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment that promotes learning and respect.

What We’re Looking For
Current COT or COA certification (COMT a plus).
2–5 years of ophthalmic technician experience preferred.
Proficiency in diagnostic testing, refractions, IOL calculations, and surgical assistance.
Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to exceptional patient care.
EMR experience required ( ModMed experience a plus).
Reliable, organized, and adaptable in a fast-paced clinical setting.
