Job description

Material Handler

The Material Handler is responsible for receiving, locating, and issuing raw materials and finished goods in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Duties also include loading / unloading, inventory management, and working in cold storage environments. Location : Round Lake, IL Shift : Training 1st shift 7am to 3 : 30pm for 4 to 6 weeks, then 2nd shift 3pm to 11 : 30pm Pay : 26 / hr Weekly Pay!

Key Responsibilities :

  • Operate warehouse equipment including forklifts, walkie riders, and pallet jacks
  • Load / unload trucks, verify packing slips, and receive inventory
  • Pick, release, and deliver production materials and MRO items
  • Build and stage outbound shipments of finished goods
  • Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory control
  • Perform light facility maintenance and equipment repairs
  • Maintain and troubleshoot labeling and directional insert equipment
  • Follow all safety and GMP guidelines

Work Environment :

  • Cold Storage : Up to 5 hours / day in -15F freezer
  • Other areas range from 40F to 105F

    • Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Prior warehouse or material handling experience preferred
  • Experience in GMP-regulated environments is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to use computers and interpret procedures
  • Able to work independently and follow detailed instructions

    • Certifications & Licenses :

  • Valid driver's license
  • Valid forklift operator certification
  • Willingness to obtain a Class C license

    • Physical Requirements :

  • Must not be allergic to Penicillin or Cephalosporin drugs
  • Visual acuity : 20 / 40 (with or without correction)
  • Able to lift 70 lbs frequently, occasionally over 100 lbs
  • Frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, reaching, squatting, and wrist turning
  • Occasional crawling, climbing, and pinching
  • Must have hearing ability of at least 25 dB

    • Language & Math Skills :

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Basic math skills required for inventory and record keeping
