Position Summary
The Capital Delivery Project Manager is responsible for leading and executing major capital projects ranging from $30MM to $100MM+. This role collaborates with business leadership, internal engineering teams, and external partners to deliver projects safely, on time, within scope, and on budget, while achieving key performance metrics.
This role will have accountable for the full project lifecycle-initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing capital projects that align with strategic business objectives. By leveraging project management best practices, risk management strategies, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Early Management (EM) principles, they drive continuous improvement, operational excellence, and long-term asset reliability while maintaining an unwavering focus on safe execution and compliance at every stage of the project.

Span of Control :
The Capital Delivery Project Manager will lead cross-functional teams to execute large capital projects, ranging from $30MM to $100MM+, across any Owens Corning business unit, primarily within the Americas. Project outcomes will impact plant financial performance, customer satisfaction, and ROI over the life of installed equipment. The role involves collaboration with senior leadership and key stakeholders to ensure effective communication and decision-making.
Location : Granville, OH or Remote (within 50 miles of a major airport)
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Execution and Leadership :
Lead and manage capital projects from initiation to closeout, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within scope, and aligned with established metrics, while adhering to Owens Corning's Project Gated Management System (PGMS).Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, and internal teams such as Engineering, EHS, and Global Sourcing to conceptualize, define, and execute capital solutions that meet business objectives.Oversee the project team, ensuring effective resource allocation and coordination between plants, vendors, and external engineering firms to define, estimate, and safely execute all project phases.Stakeholder Engagement & Communication :
Foster strong communication with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding of project goals, timelines, and deliverables.Track and report project progress against established metrics, identifying potential risks, and implementing corrective actions as needed.Collaborate with the broader project management team to oversee cost control, contract administration, construction site representation, scheduling, and other project support functions.Process and Process Improvement :
Drive, enhance, and communicate the implementation of standard processes used in capital delivery, ensuring alignment with global procedures and compliance with Intellectual Property (IP), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) guidelines, and corporate policies.Work with Global Capital Delivery Leaders to ensure consistency and enforcement of best practices across capital projects.Integrate Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Early Management (EM) principles into all projects and actively engage in TPM training.Risk Management :
Identify, assess, and proactively manage risks throughout the project lifecycle, developing and implementing mitigation strategies to minimize project impact.Engage the project team and stakeholders in risk discussions to ensure that potential issues are addressed early and do not jeopardize the project's success.Budget and Resource Management :
Effectively manage project budgets, tracking expenditures to ensure they align with forecasted costs and proactively addressing financial variances.Oversee resource allocation across project phases, ensuring the timely availability of staff, materials, and equipment for successful project completion.Vendor and Contract Management :
Oversee vendor performance and ensure contractual obligations are met, maintaining alignment with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.Lessons Learned and Continuous Improvement :
Document and analyze lessons learned from ongoing and completed projects, sharing insights for continuous improvement and application in future projects.Contribute to the evolution of project management best practices within the organization, offering feedback for process optimization and fostering the development of future project managers.Training and Development :
Complete all required regulatory and project management training, including certifications and programs such as OC PGMS, CURT, PMI, and RPM, as necessary.Participate in training activities to stay current with industry trends and project management methodologies.JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Chemical preferred).A minimum of 10+ years of experience leading capital projects in support of manufacturing operations.Strong background in manufacturing operations and / or design engineering, with a focus on process improvement and system optimization.Strongfinancial acumen, with experience in budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting for capital projects.Vendor managementexperience, including the ability to manage and evaluate third-party contractors and suppliers.Demonstrated ability to lead andmentor teams, fostering a culture of collaboration.Experience with gated process engineering design and project execution methodologies.Ability to manage 30-50% travel, both domestic and international, depending on plant locations and project needs.Proficiency with Microsoft Project or Primavera scheduling tools for project planning and tracking.This role will be part of our Global Capital Delivery team, based at the Owens Corning Science & Technology Center in Granville, OH. Remote work is possible with proximity to a major airport for travel requirements.PREFERREDEXPERIENCE :
Advanced degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Chemical preferred).Experience with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) execution strategies for capital investments.Knowledge ofsustainability practicesand their integration into capital project execution, aligning with the company's goals for environmental responsibility.Risk management expertise, including identifying, analyzing, and mitigating project risks throughout the lifecycle.Ability tointerface with senior leadership, providing regular project updates and presenting complex issues in a clear, actionable manner.Familiarity with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles and their application in capital project delivery.PMI training and exposure to industry associations such as CURT, CII, and PMI.Proficiency in design tools such as FMEA, DFMA, DFS, and other relevant methodologies.Experience using AutoCAD or similar design software for project design and documentation.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES :
