Overview

Job Title : Inventory Control Coordinator

Area of Responsibility : Paint, Receiving, Parts Distribution

Department : Operations

Reports to : Area Manager

FLSA Status : Non-Exempt

Summary

Responsible for the overall coordination of manufactured and / or purchased items in the plant. Receives, stores, ships, and distributes materials, tools, equipment, and products within establishment or to external customers by performing the duties listed below.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to production workers or assembly line.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or convey orders to packing station or shipping department.
  • Perform straightforward assembly in Kitting Area.
  • Mark materials with identifying information.
  • Open bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Weigh or count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Enter records on the computer.
  • Drive vehicle or forklift to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.
  • Complete requisition forms to order supplies from other plant departments.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times, following all safety guidelines.

Education and / or Experience

High School Diploma or General Education degree (GED). 1 year related experience in a manufacturing environment and / or additional related education preferred.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

Weiler Forklift Operators Certificate.

Communication Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must have strong leadership skills, with excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Computer Skills

Ability to perform simple tasks, such as setting tabs, opening and closing files, and simple formulas. Prior experience with a computer required. Excel and Intuitive are used to complete the tasks of the job.
