Bench Technician – Electro-mechanical Components Job Description – Bench Technician is responsible for the servicing / repair of small diesel locomotive electro-mechanical components and trainline cables. Responsibilities Perform the inspection, analysis and servicing of components for repair Read and understand repair procedures Participate in on the job training Clean components using parts cleaner, enclosed blasting medium, air hoses and cloths Use of basic hand tools to disassemble parts (employee provided) Maintain a clean and orderly bench / work area Follow all safety guidelines to maintain a safe environment Complete tasks as assigned Requirements Knowledge digital multimeters and power supplies and proper usage Ability to properly use hand tools and provide all necessary tools needed Ability to read and understand repair and test procedures Good attention to detail Must be able to easily lift a maximum of 50 pounds Ability to take direction and work with others Complete necessary paperwork to verify repair and testing of component Associates or certificate in EE or comparable suggested Valid driver’s license High School Diploma or equivalent required Must pass physical and drug test Forklift experience Experience servicing mechanical equipment Benefits Health Plan Paid Holidays Vacation Hours Monday thru Friday – 7 : 00 am to 3 : 30 pm Job Type : Full-time Salary : $20.00 - $21.00 per hour Schedule : 8 hour shift Monday to Friday Education : High school or equivalent License / Certification : Driver's License Work Location : In person Top of Form
