Description : Job Summary :

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, analyzing, and documenting mechanical systems and components used in ruggedized enclosures and rack systems for aerospace and defense applications. This role requires advanced proficiency in CAD and FEA tools, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and strict adherence to industry standards (AS9100, DoD, NASA, MIL-STD). The position contributes directly to product reliability, manufacturability, and compliance while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across engineering processes.

Key Responsibilities :

• Design mechanical systems and components for ruggedized enclosures and rack systems, ensuring compliance with program specifications and industry standards.
• Perform engineering analyses, including stress, thermal, vibration, and fatigue analysis using FEA tools, and document results in formal engineering reports.
• Develop and maintain CAD models, detailed engineering drawings, and bills of material (BOMs) in accordance with ASME Y14.5 (GD&T).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems, electrical, and manufacturing engineers to ensure design compatibility and top performance.
• Participate in design reviews, root cause analyses, and failure investigations, and root cause analyses; track and close corrective actions to completion.
• Support prototyping, integration, and assembly of new designed hardware by providing build instructions, tooling specifications, and hands-on technical guidance.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100, ITAR, DoD and customer / regulatory requirements throughout the design lifecycle.
• Contribute to process improvements by documenting best practices, developing checklists, and recommending new tools or methods.
