Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Clinic Medication Aide for a 13-week travel assignment in Newton, New Jersey. Required Qualifications :
- One year of recent experience as a Medication Aide
- Valid Medication Aide Certification in compliance with state regulations
- Valid CNA Certification in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA / ARC) or CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications :
Possible certification in CMA, RMA, NCMC, CCMA, PMAC, COA depending on positionOther certifications may be required depending on facility requirementsSummary :
A Medication Aide supports nursing staff by safely administering medications to residents in a long-term care (LTC) or healthcare setting. They ensure medications are given accurately and on time. They monitor residents for any side effects and document all medication administration properly.
Essential Work Functions :
Greet and prepare patients for exams, collecting medical history and documenting symptomsMeasure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respirationAssist healthcare providers during examinations and minor procedures, ensuring patient comfortPerform basic lab tests and collect specimens for diagnostic testing as requiredAdminister medications and vaccines as directed by a healthcare provider within scope of practice following state regulationsProvide patient education, explaining treatments, medications, and follow-up care instructionsManage appointment scheduling and patient check-ins, ensuring efficient workflowMaintain and update health records with accurate patient informationHandle insurance verifications, billing, and prior authorizations for procedures and medicationsEnsure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and prepared for each patient visitPerform other duties as assigned within the scope of practiceAdhere to facility safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standardsRequired Essential Skills :
Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skillsThe ability to read, write, and communicate in the English languageAbility to read / comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skillsPhysical Abilities - Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bendInterpersonal Skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalismTechnical / Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push / pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and / or using department equipmentMental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel.
