Schedule : Monday-Friday, 8 am - 5 pm

Pay Rate : $16 / hr

The Intake Specialist plays a crucial role in gathering patient demographic and insurance information, processing co-pays, verifying insurance benefits, and obtaining necessary prior authorizations. This position requires professional interaction with medical staff and patients, appointment scheduling, referral management, and reviewing medical records for accuracy and necessity. Effective communication with the sales team and regular reporting to management is essential, along with handling additional assigned tasks and projects.

Qualifications :

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years of experience in a Durable Medical Equipment company or relevant medical office setting preferred
• Basic understanding of medical insurance benefits
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships
• Excellent communication skills and proficiency in medical documentation comprehension
• Knowledge of DME equipment, insurance regulations, medical terminology, and billing processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Self-motivated with initiative and a consistent level of productivity
• Willingness to work weekends, overtime, or participate in an on-call rotation as needed
