Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Augusta, Georgia 30901 (Georgia nursing jobs)

Assignment Length : 12 weeks (Start : 11 / 10 / 2025 – End : 2 / 2 / 2026)

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1460 - $1500

Healthcare Setting : Medical / Surgical Unit (38 beds, average daily census 33)

Shift : Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (07 : 00 – 19 : 00)

Hours per Week : 36

Patient Population : Adolescents to Geriatrics

Charting System : Epic (Required)

Scrub Color : Navy Blue

Weekend Coverage : Every other weekend

Floating : Required to similar medical / surgical units

Remote Telemetry : Yes

Time Off : MAX 7 days (RTO required with submission)

Holiday Coverage : Must be available to work major holidays per assignment policy

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Georgia RN license or Compact state nursing license (required at time of submission)

Minimum 1 year of recent Medical / Surgical RN experience (first-time travel nurses welcome)

BLS certification required

Proficiency with Epic charting system

Ability to manage patient ratios of 1 : 6 in a fast-paced clinical environment

Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions accepted)

Availability to work major holidays per assignment policy

Two supervisory references highly preferred

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with diverse medical and surgical diagnoses

Monitor patients using remote telemetry and respond promptly to changes in condition

Administer medications, blood products, and manage IVs, central lines, PICC lines, and feeding tubes

Perform wound care, colostomy care, and pre / post hemodialysis management

Document patient care accurately in Epic and communicate effectively using SBAR

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, physical therapy, respiratory, pharmacy, social services, and more)

Float to similar med / surg units as needed

Participate in rapid response and code teams
