Position Title : Standards Support Group Lead
Position Summary
The Standards Support Group Lead (SSGL) serves as the organizational focal point for developing, maintaining, and deploying company-wide process, quality, and compliance standards that ensure alignment with CMMI ML3 (Services & Development), CMMC Level 2, ISO 9001 : 2015, NIST SP 800-171, and DoD / AFSOC contract requirements. This role leads the Standards Support Group (SSG) -a cross-functional team of quality, engineering, IT security, and program management representatives-to drive disciplined adherence to corporate policy, process improvement, and audit readiness across all programs and functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Standards Governance & Lifecycle Management
- Establish and maintain the Corporate Standards Repository , including policies, procedures, templates, and training artifacts for all business and technical functions.
- Ensure standards are controlled, versioned, and aligned to the current QMS , CMMI Process Areas , and CMMC practices .
- Lead the bi-annual standards review cycle , coordinating subject-matter experts (SMEs) to validate applicability and effectiveness.
- Serve as the configuration manager for standards documentation within the Document Management System (DMS).
- Coordinate with the Process Group and Security Officer to ensure harmonization of quality and cybersecurity controls.
- Audit & Assessment Readiness
- Lead pre-assessment readiness for CMMI appraisals , CMMC 3PAO audits , and ISO 9001 surveillance audits .
- Develop internal audit schedules, checklists, and evidence matrices; ensure audit results are tracked and corrective actions are closed on time.
- Support external auditors by managing access to controlled documentation and serving as the primary point of contact for the Standards Support Group.
- Process Improvement & Performance Measurement
- Facilitate process gap analyses and continuous-improvement initiatives to strengthen quality and compliance posture.
- Track process performance indicators (PPIs) and quality objectives across programs; issue quarterly trend reports.
- Lead root-cause and corrective-action (RCCA) reviews for systemic non-conformances.
- Implement lessons learned from audits, metrics, and project reviews into updated corporate standards.
- Training & Knowledge Management
- Develop and maintain process and standards training modules (self-paced eLearning + live workshops).
- Conduct onboarding sessions for new employees on QMS / CMMI / CMMC frameworks.
- Partner with HR and IT to deploy training records tracking and certification renewals within the LMS.
- Cross-Functional Leadership & Engagement
- Chair the Standards Support Group Monthly Meeting -drive action items, track open issues, and communicate progress to the Executive Steering Committee.
- Collaborate with Program Managers, Contract Managers, and IT Security Leads to integrate standards into daily operations and project deliverables.
- Support proposal and business-development efforts by providing standardized templates and compliance language for RFP responses.
- Reporting & Governance Integration
- Prepare quarterly Quality & Compliance Dashboard reports for leadership.
- Present status at Governance Review Boards and Process Group Meetings .
- Provide metrics and narratives for CPAR inputs, management reviews, and corporate governance packages.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Quality Management, or related discipline.8+ years of experience in quality, standards, or process engineering, preferably in defense services or DoD contracting .Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional or standards / process groups.Expert knowledge of CMMI Level 3 , CMMC 2 , ISO 9001 : 2015 , and NIST SP 800-171 .Strong writing and document-control skills; proficiency with SharePoint Online, Smartsheet, and Microsoft 365 toolsets.Preferred
CMMI Associate or Lead Appraiser experience.ISO 9001 : 2015 Lead Auditor certification.DoD security clearance (Secret or higher).Performance Metrics
Audit non-conformances closed ≤ 30 days.100% completion of annual standards review cycle.≥ 95% on-time completion of required compliance training.Year-over-year improvement in process performance indicators (PPIs).Positive external audit outcomes (no major NCs).S2Technologies is an equal-opportunity employer.
