Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab RN with at least one year of recent interventional cardiac experience and an active IL RN license.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a hospital-based Cath Lab with a 5-room unit and an average daily census of 25 patients
  • Handles adult diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, including left and right heart catheterizations and Swan Ganz monitoring
  • Day shifts : 3x12 hour shifts (6 : 30 AM - 7 : 00 PM)
  • Weekend coverage required : 2-3 weekends per contract
  • On-call is required as needed
  • Floating to other units or nearby affiliate hospitals within scope as needed
  • Uses Cerner EMR; Cerner experience required
  • Role includes circulating during procedures, monitoring sedation, and providing care during complex cardiac interventions
  • Magnet-designated Level I trauma hospital environment
  • Scrubs are hospital provided
  • No cost for parking; parking permit completed during orientation
  • Must complete orientation modules virtually on first day
  • Candidates must complete required lab, forms, and photo within 1 week of signing contract
  • Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays as assigned
  • Must not have been a perm or PRN employee of affiliated health system within the past 12 months
  • RTO of up to 5 days is generally approved
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates are accepted

  • Active IL RN license required at time of application
  • Minimum 1 year of recent interventional cardiac Cath Lab nursing experience required
  • Current American Heart Association or Red Cross BLS and ACLS certifications required (RQI cards not accepted)
  • Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
  • Experience with Cerner EMR required
  • Must be able to float as needed throughout the hospital and to affiliate locations
  • Must provide 2 professional references from supervisors within the past 2 years
