About The Position

Job Title : MRI Technologist

Experience : Siemens experience is preferred

License : Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or registry eligible.

Certifications : Requires advanced certification in MR within one year of employment.

Must-Have :

• Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science.
• Must provide a copy of diploma from accredited program if registry eligible.
• Must maintain current competency in HCP BLS.

Description :

Patient identification is crucial.

Use professional manners and methods to verify patient identification.

Obtain patient history, assist patients and family members requiring extra attention.

Ensure patient understanding whenever possible and prioritize patient safety.

Verify patient identification and document pregnancy status on patients of childbearing age.

Demonstrate knowledge of MRI and cross-sectional human anatomy.

Be competent in operating MRI scanners.

Proficiently perform automatic injections of MRI contrast, manage disc drives, gateways, PACS, and laser printers.

Maintain active status with appropriate continuing education requirements.

Interpret protocols and select appropriate scanning parameters.

Share knowledge with fellow MRI technologists regarding troubleshooting problems with equipment and protocols.

Administer oral contrast to adult and pediatric patients according to protocols.

Establish intravenous lines and administer IV contrast following safe procedures.

Check appropriate lab values before contrast injection per protocol.

Maintain a thorough understanding of PACS to transmit images to the appropriate systems.

Verify and segment images, and manage orders in a timely manner.

Cancel duplicate orders to prevent duplicate billing.

Ensure all charge information is accurate.

Verify patient identification in accordance with policy and ensure demographic information is correct.

Perform tasks in a timely manner and manage workflow consistently.

Volunteer for challenging tasks and procedures as needed.

Produce quality diagnostic images.

Review patient charts and reports for correlation.

Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.

Document incidents as improvement opportunities for staff and the department.

Precept new employees and students.
