Job Summary :
Ensures products meet all quality requirements, customer orders produced meet on time delivery by maintaining efficiency. Monitor all aspects of shift production activities in the molding and assembly departments, to confirm all applicable procedures and work instructions are being followed according to our quality system. Responsible for maintaining a professional, safe and clean work environment in all production areas.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities :
- Ensure proper rundown by providing shift communication log to incoming Shift Supervisor on a daily basis.
- Provides information to production personnel on work targets and results.
- In conjunction with process engineering, oversee effective usage of production personnel to setup, start and run production jobs on time and in an efficient manner (cycle time, labor and scrap), utilizing minimal people with maximum productivity.
- Coordinates raw material drying and handling with material handlers based on priorities.
- Randomly audit Process Techs, Lead Operators, Set-up Techs, and Material Handlers visually and thru all the documentation being used, like comparing the current process with the process documented on file, all this to be reviewed on a daily basis, to assure completeness, accuracy and to confirm that the quality system is being followed.
- Monitors machine downtimes and generate solutions for its reduction.
- Informs operators how to improve on downtime to reach maximum efficiency.
- Provides operators on manual work centers with their daily targets and ensures targets are being made.
- Ensures finished product is counted accurately, inspected, and moved to warehouse in a timely manner.
- Ensures that all operators are trained on how to properly create a sample for the work center and how to properly use all scales.
- Report all downtime in IQMS Realtime accurately and consistently within IQMS Downtime section
- Works with quality to make sure any product placed on NMR is moved to quarantine both physically and systematically.
- Ensures all mold book documentation is complete and signed off correctly.
- Maintain a positive system for preventing and resolving nonconforming product and / or its recurrence through the use of Cause and effect analysis, as part of a team, and Corrective Actions. Coordinates product re-inspections when necessary.
- Communicates all Non-Conformances and Quality alerts with the team to ensure a heightened level of inspection.
- Responsible for maintaining and supporting the quality system through training, audits and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Address NCRs and Corrective Actions within the shift
- Enforce the company’s safety & Environmental programs through training, audits, and periodic safety meetings. Reports any safety or environmental issue found. Coordinates safety improvements to prevent injuries.
- Participate in process improvement projects and activities.
