Senior Cloud Data Architect

Our client located in Detroit, MI, is looking for a talented Senior Level Cloud Data Architect to join their team there in Detroit or in Charlotte, NC

This role is currently has a hybrid work schedule of remote and in-office days.

The Senior Cloud Architect will be responsible for architecting, developing and maintaining the Enterprise Data Platform including a Serverless Data Lake, Cloud Data Warehouse and core data/application pipelines. The chosen candidate will play a vital role in designing and developing our clients next generation data platform. This Cloud Architect will serve as the highest-level technical application and/or business architecture expert for software development / infrastructure teams. They will also act as the SME for project teams in the planning, design, and delivery of technology solutions.

This is a full-time, direct hire role with our client. Candidates not located near Detroit or Charlotte but interested in relocating CAN BE considered and assistance can be provided.

The ideal candidate should possess:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (Computer Science, Business Administration or similar) or equivalent experience is acceptable.
• 7 or more years of IT and business/industry work experience in the Financial services industry developing and executing strategic plans and/or project portfolios
• Experience in the Development of Data Strategy and associated policies
• Experience with Hadoop and NO SQL databases.
• Proven knowledge of successful design, architecture and development using Hadoop with large data volumes and AWS Cloud technologies
• Experience with AWS Serverless technologies including Athena, S3, Kinesis, LAMBDA, and GLUE.
• Experience with Snowflake, Redshift or other MPP databases
• Experience with One or more data Integration Technologies (Nifi, Pentaho, Talend, Informatica, etc.
• Ability to guide, mentor, and coach technical teams
• Expert knowledge of standards in IT architecture and infrastructure
• Ability to develop enterprise guidelines and standards
• Ability to lead multiple projects under moving deadlines
• Works effectively with technical and non-technical staff. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Continuous delivery and Dev Ops experience - infrastructure automation, monitoring, logging, auditing and security implementation and practices.
• Collaborate with Agile teams to recommend the right architectures with high quality and software best practices
• Develops tools and processes to enable automated deployment and monitoring of cloud infrastructure and applications.
• Expertise in R, Python and predictive analytics.
• Integration / Messaging platforms: SNS, SQS, Active MQ, Apache Kafka, Lambda, Kinesis etc.
• Containers: Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Ansible, Nexus, Software defined networking.
• DevOps/DevSecOps: Bitbucket, Jenkins, Gitlab
