QA Engineer - Telecommunications
Established (30+ Years) Company Seeking QA Engineer for Telecommunications Software in Plano, TX
An established technology company with over 30 years in business is seeking a QA Engineer with 2-4+ years of hands-on testing and automation experience to join its Engineering team in Plano, TX. This position supports the company's UCaaS (Unified Communications as a Service) platform serving the North American market and focuses on ensuring quality across web-based provisioning software that allows customers to self-provision their phone systems. The ideal candidate will have a balanced mix of manual and automated testing experience, a strong foundation in Java and Selenium, and familiarity with telephony and API testing.

Salary range : $80,000-$100,000+ depending on experience

Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
2-4+ years of both manual and automated testing (50 / 50 split)
Proficiency with Selenium , Java , API testing , JIRA , and Jenkins
Experience maintaining existing automation frameworks (no new framework development)
Ability to work collaboratively within a QA team of 4 and an engineering team of 11
Responsibilities :
Perform functional and exploratory testing of web-based telecommunications provisioning software
Maintain and enhance existing automation frameworks using Selenium and Java
Conduct both manual and automated testing for new system enhancements and feature releases
Use JIRA to manage workflow and track defects, and Jenkins for CI / CD pipeline automation
Perform API testing using Postman or similar tools to validate service endpoints
Collaborate with developers to validate fixes, identify automation opportunities, and improve release quality
Support ongoing testing for telephony systems and soft clients across desktop, smartphone, and desk phone platforms
Collect and analyze logs, generate reports, and ensure traceable documentation for all test activities
Preferred Skills :
Experience with telephony systems or VoIP clients
Experience with testing of telecommunications or provisioning software
Familiarity with both Windows and Linux environments
Experience troubleshooting SIP phones, SBC products, and using tools like Wireshark and syslog
