Description

The Healthcare Industry Group (HIG), a subsidiary of A&M, delivers transformational change to the healthcare industry. Our professionals advise organizations on financial and operational performance improvement, strategic growth and value realization across the investment lifecycle. Our team provides expertise in interim management, restructuring, revenue cycle management, M&A, compliance and regulatory, digital technology and analytics. You will work with clients in health systems and providers, physician groups, ancillary providers, medical schools, vision, laboratory, dental and behavior health, managed care and health plans, government plans and programs, healthcare investors and lenders, medical devices, healthcare suppliers and infrastructure, and life sciences. HIG's Healthcare Services (HCS) practice focuses on serving private equity portfolio companies and both public and private healthcare companies, with services including performance improvement / operational turnarounds, cost optimization, M&A services, finance operations, and interim management (including CFO services).

How You Will Contribute

As a consultant you will work closely with healthcare clients on a range of complex assignments, in a team environment while using independent judgment and critical thinking to drive practical solutions. Depending on the client project, responsibilities may include :

  • Rapidly building and maintaining financial and operational models to assess client performance (including synergy analyses, 13-week cash flows, and pro forma financial statements)
  • Conducting operational data analysis to develop KPI metrics to track and drive meaningful change
  • Evaluating business operations and supporting performance improvement initiatives
  • Analyzing process workflows to identify opportunities for improvement and develop solutions
  • Participating in client interviews and capturing actionable items
  • Forecasting cash flows and managing liquidity
  • Benchmarking internal and external data
  • Performing analysis and developing reports and deliverables
  • Preparing client-ready deliverables and presentations; assisting with client presentations
  • Conducting healthcare research
  • Assisting with the development of presentations, pitches and proposal content

Qualifications

  • High energy with a passion for healthcare and solving complex issues
  • Minimum of three (3) years of prior work experience in healthcare, consulting or healthcare-related fields (e.g., healthcare banking, accounting, audit, private equity, or healthcare operations)
  • Working knowledge of the healthcare industry
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and modeling skills; ability to create and maintain models (e.g., synergy analyses, pro forma analyses, 13-week cash flows) is a plus
  • Understanding of accounting and finance; ability to review financial statements and disclosures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for all client levels
  • Solid project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to conduct operational data analysis and synthesize information for KPI development
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel; experience with Visio, Tableau / Power BI, SQL, SPSS is a plus
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required
  • BA / BS and / or MBA / MS in Accounting, Finance, or related healthcare fields (e.g., MHA or MPH)
  • Professional certifications such as CPA or CFA, or demonstrated progress toward such certifications

The annual base salary range is $90k – $115k, with a discretionary bonus program based on individual and firm performance.
