Senior Dining Services Manager

Department : Food & Beverage

Reports To : Food & Beverage Director

Status : Exempt

Position Summary

Mary’s Woods is seeking a Senior Dining Services Manager to oversee and elevate the front-of-house (FOH) dining experience across our vibrant independent living community. This role leads operations for multiple dining venues, including the Adriatic Kitchen, Dagostino Lounge, Mt. Hood Restaurant, Social Lounge, Three Sisters Restaurant, and Three Sisters Café.

The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to balance day-to-day operations with long-term strategic improvements. You’ll manage FOH staff, budgets, and standards of service while ensuring compliance with safety and food-handling requirements. This is a hands-on leadership position that thrives on building a welcoming, high-quality dining environment for residents, families, and guests.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily FOH operations for all independent living dining venues, ensuring consistent, high-quality service.

Hire, train, coach, supervise, and evaluate FOH staff; foster ongoing education and professional growth.

Prepare and manage staffing schedules, payroll, and labor costs within budgeted guidelines.

Monitor inventory, manage par stock levels, and implement cost-saving and revenue-enhancing measures.

Maintain compliance with safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards.

Engage with residents directly to gather feedback and implement improvements.

Support catering and special events with planning, staff coordination, and service execution.

Conduct pre-shift and departmental meetings to ensure effective communication.

Partner with other departments to support organizational goals and events.

Promote positive resident, staff, and guest relations while embodying the mission and values of Mary’s Woods.

Qualifications

High school diploma required; college degree preferred.

Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management education strongly preferred.

5+ years of progressive food and beverage management experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.

Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations, labor management, and guest service standards.

Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.

Ability to lead with initiative, sound judgment, and ethical practice.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook; experience with POS and scheduling systems a plus.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Work performed in both indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to temperature changes and occasional hazards (slippery floors, sharp equipment, etc.).

Requires the ability to stand / walk for long periods, bend, lift, and carry up to 25 lbs.

Flexible schedule required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
