General Purpose

A Utility Clerk is an employee who represents the company while working in an office setting in a service center and also outdoors in the field. The core duties of this position are administrative in nature, and the applicant must demonstrate basic clerical skills, which will include keyboard proficiency, office etiquette as well as oral and written communication skills. The successful candidate is expected to progress through a two-year Company-provided training program on various computer systems and processes. The successful candidate may also be assigned various field activities such as meter reading and working as part of a line crew.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of office and field related tasks to support day-to-day operations at an electric utility. Some essential duties include customer communication, meter reading, project tracking, database entry, and payroll processing. Other duties may include :

• Manage emails, letters, packages, phone calls, and other forms of correspondence.
• Process paperwork for internal or external use across various work groups.
• Organize and maintain project data to assist management with reporting requirements.
• Assist other employees and management as needed to meet team objectives and deliverables.
• May work as a groundman on a line crew, assisting line personnel with electrical system construction and maintenance activities.
• Perform meter reading, meter connections, and disconnections as assigned.
• Ability to work overtime during emergency operations.
