Travel LPN Job Details Location : Rochester, NY 14621 (New York healthcare jobs) Unit : Medical / Surgical (Med / Surg, MS / Tele) Position Type : Travel Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Contract Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 4 / 2025 – End : 2 / 3 / 2026) Shift : Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts / week (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM) Weekly Hours : 36 Estimated Weekly Salary : $1210 - $1240 Patient Ratio : 6 : 1 (Nights) Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend Charting System : Epic EMR Orientation : 16 hours Travel Med / Surg LPN Job Requirements Active New York Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required Minimum 1 year of recent hospital LPN experience (within the last 2 years) Previous travel LPN or travel nurse experience required BLS certification (Basic Life Support) from AHA Proficiency with Epic electronic medical records (EMR) system Ability to float to other Med / Surg units as needed Must reside more than 75 miles from the Rochester, NY facility LPN Responsibilities in Medical / Surgical Unit Independently manage patient assignments with Registered Nurse (RN) support Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric populations (COPD, infections, failure to thrive, social issues) Administer medications including antianxiety, antidepressants, antihypertensives, IM & SQ injections Monitor and document vital signs, intake / output, and telemetry readings Assist with patient hygiene, feeding tube care, Foley catheter insertion, wound care, and pressure ulcer prevention Obtain and label laboratory specimens, perform blood glucose monitoring, and conduct EKG / ECG procedures Communicate changes in patient status to RN and physician (MD) Implement isolation precautions and de-escalation protocols as needed Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV therapy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, social services) Ready to take the next step in your nursing career?
