Principal Scientist

A company is looking for a Principal Scientist to join their machine learning team focused on natural language applications in educational measurement.

Key Responsibilities

Support innovation in natural language applications for educational outcomes, including automated scoring and crisis alert detection

Contribute to the R&D agenda and set priorities for the automated scoring team

Design and implement studies for natural language applications and pursue applied research for publication

Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in applied mathematics, statistics, or a related computational field

Experience with deep neural networks and transformer-based architectures

Professional experience in large scale assessment or EdTech

5+ years of experience working with software developers, NLP scientists, and data scientists

History of published research in artificial intelligence applications within large scale assessment
