About the Company and Accounts Payable Lead Opportunity :
- CFS is partnering with a repeat client based in Baltimore county. Due to an upcoming retirement, they are hiring an Accounts Payable Lead t o join their large accounting team. This is a contract to hire position; for the right candidate, this position will become permanent.
- Schedule : The Accounts Payable Lead will be mostly remote. Company is based in White Marsh, MD so candidates must be commutable to White Marsh, MD up to two days (Monday & Thursday) per week.
Work 8 hours per day. Hours can be flexible between 6am-6pm, 40 hours per week, M-F. Potential for overtime!
Reports to the Accounting ManagerSalary : $65,000Ideal start : Late October 2025Job Duties of the Accounts Payable Lead :
Manage a high volume of corporate billing and invoicing with accuracy and timelinessPrioritize and process vendor payments to maintain critical business relationshipsMaintain proactive vendor relations, understanding payment sensitivities and service cut-off risksCoordinate closely with the operations team to align vendor payments with customer collectionsBalance vendor payment speed with corporate cash flow needs, making informed prioritization decisionsManually code accounts payable invoices, ensuring proper GL account allocationPresent AP data and reporting to managementPerform check runs and process onsite mail 1-2x per weekReview and analyze aging reports to identify and resolve outstanding payment issuesQualifications for the Accounts Payable Lead :
5+ years' AP experienceStrong with vendor relations, manual coding, check runs, etc.
Experience with AP automation a plusExperience using NetSuite a plus but not requiredProficient Excel skills (create basic pivot tables, knowledge of formulas, lookups, linking sheets, presenting data to management, etc.)Diligent, detail oriented, strong communication, patient, team player but also comfortable working independently, able to pivot and provide process improvement
