Med / Surg RN Job Details Location : Albuquerque, NM 87102 (New Mexico healthcare jobs) Unit : Medical-Surgical, 4th Floor (32-bed unit) Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse Contract Start Date : November 24, 2025 End Date : February 23, 2026 Duration : 13-week nursing contract Shift : Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (18 : 30 - 07 : 00); options for 36 or 48 hours / week Estimated Weekly Pay : $1460 - $1500 Patient Ratio : 1 : 6 Weekend Requirement : 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period Charting System : EPIC electronic health record Scrub Color : Any (no hospital logo required) Orientation : 24 hours onsite Registered Nurse Qualifications Active New Mexico or Compact RN license (required at time of submission) Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg RN experience in a hospital setting BLS certification required; CPI certification preferred Experience with EPIC charting system preferred Clinical skills : blood product administration, central line blood draws, chest tube management, colostomy care, CVA, feeding tube care, heparin, high flow nasal cannula, insulin administration, isolation precautions, IV management, wound care, and more Ability to float to similar medical-surgical units as needed First-time travel nurses are encouraged to apply Local travelers (within 50 miles) not accepted Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Provide safe, compassionate, and effective nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a busy Med / Surg unit Manage a patient load of up to 6 patients per shift Administer medications, manage IVs, perform wound care, and deliver other clinical nursing interventions Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services Document patient care accurately using the EPIC electronic health record system Float to similar medical-surgical units as needed to support hospital operations Participate in self-scheduling and fulfill weekend shift requirements Complete required orientation and onsite training modules Apply now to join our Albuquerque healthcare team and take the next step in your travel nursing career!
