Our challenge :
We are seeking an experienced Azure Platform Engineer with expertise in cloud infrastructure, CI / CD pipelines, and automation. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Azure networking (VNets, subnets) and GitLab pipeline builds, along with exposure to AI and ML services on Azure such as AI Foundry, ML Studio, and AI Search. This role involves designing, deploying, and optimizing Azure environments, automating workflows, and collaborating with development and AI / ML teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud solutions.
Additional Information
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte is $110k - $120k / year & benefits (see below).
The Role Responsibilities :
- Design, build, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability.
- Develop and manage CI / CD pipelines using GitLab runners, integrating automated testing, deployment, and monitoring processes.
- Configure and maintain Azure networking components - including VNets, subnets, NSGs, route tables, and connectivity to hybrid environments.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to automate environment provisioning and configuration.
- Manage and optimize Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters for containerized workloads.
- Collaborate with development and AI teams to deploy and manage Azure AI / ML services, including AI Foundry, ML Studio, and AI Search.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate operational and administrative tasks.
- Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues across the platform, ensuring system reliability and uptime.
- Apply best practices for cloud governance, cost optimization, and security compliance.
- Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and architecture diagrams for deployed environments.
Requirements :
5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, platform operations, or DevOps roles.Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including networking, compute, storage, and monitoring services.Strong expertise in building CI / CD pipelines on GitLab runners (GitLab CI / CD).Solid understanding of Azure networking - VNets, subnets, routing, load balancers, and firewalls.Proficiency in scripting with PowerShell for automation and configuration management.Experience managing Azure Active Directory (AAD) and integrating with GitLab or other CI / CD tools.Preferred Skills (Good to Have) :
Hands-on experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).Experience with AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service) for deploying and managing containerized workloads.Familiarity with Azure AI services - AI Foundry, Machine Learning Studio, Cognitive Search (AI Search).Understanding of Azure DevOps, Monitoring tools (Log Analytics, App Insights), and Security Center.Exposure to Python scripting for automation or AI service integration.We offer :
