Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department night shift position requiring at least five years of ER experience and supervisory flexibility.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital
  • Primarily ER responsibilities with the expectation to cover house supervisor duties as needed
  • 12-hour night shifts from 18 : 30 to 07 : 00, three nights per week
  • Every other weekend required
  • House supervisor floating required for weekend coverage
  • Mandatory participation in bedside shift reporting, AIDET communication framework, and hourly rounding
  • Training provided for house supervisor role for weekend and coverage needs
  • Holiday time off is not accepted, with expectation to work every other holiday per policy
  • Travelers must participate in natural disaster and other emergency response activities as required
  • Candidates cannot work as a traveler for more than 52 weeks consecutively and must take a one year break before returning
  • Requirements

  • Active WI or compact RN license required
  • Minimum of five years of Emergency Department RN experience
  • Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
  • NIHSS and TNCC certifications are preferred
  • Experience as charge nurse and / or in a house supervisory role is preferred
  • Barcode scanning compliance of at least 95% required for contract extension eligibility
  • First time travelers will not be considered
  • Candidates must live at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible
