About the Company

Our client is a well-established full-service payroll and human capital management provider with a client base across 30+ states. They pride themselves on offering personal, accessible service — the kind that’s often missing from larger providers. Every client has direct access to their own Payroll Specialist, ensuring timely responses, reliable communication, and exceptional support.

As a Payroll Specialist, you’ll play a key role in delivering that same level of care. This role combines technical expertise, client interaction, and process management — ideal for someone who values precision, communication, and people. You’ll oversee full-cycle payroll, ensure compliance, and support clients with the highest level of professionalism and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

Process full-cycle payroll for multiple employees and locations accurately and efficiently.

Audit and review payroll files to ensure accuracy, compliance, and completeness.

Handle payroll tax returns, 401(k) contributions, health insurance deductions, and ACA reporting.

Manage hiring, onboarding, and employee self-service tools, including Checkr for background checks.

Perform pay entry and oversee payroll accuracy through MPay.

Import and reconcile timeclock files, ensuring all categories and boxes are correctly mapped.

Maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion.

Provide excellent client communication and support, responding promptly to payroll-related questions.

Collaborate with leadership to streamline processes and identify opportunities for greater efficiency.

Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

8+ years of payroll experience, ideally within multi-client or multi-state environments.

Strong knowledge of ACA compliance, payroll taxes, and benefits administration.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).

Experience with MPay or similar payroll software.

Familiarity with Checkr and timeclock import processes.

Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a client-first mindset.

Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Demonstrated integrity, reliability, and accountability in all aspects of work.

Comfortable working in a mature, deadline-driven environment.

Benefits

Competitive salary

Paid time off and company holidays.

Supportive, relationship-driven work environment.

Direct access to leadership and opportunities for professional growth.

If you’re a seasoned payroll professional who takes pride in accuracy, enjoys helping clients, and values a people-first culture, this is an excellent opportunity to join a company that treats every client — and every employee — like family.
