As a Registered Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in delivering patient / family-centered care, utilizing evidence-based practices to ensure the highest standards of nursing. You will be expected to adhere to safety protocols, embrace quality improvement initiatives, and understand the requirements of regulatory agencies. Your commitment to the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act will guide you as you provide exceptional care, potentially requiring weekend, holiday, or on-call work.\n\nEssential Functions\n

  • Conduct thorough assessments to gather data on patient status and respond to changes in health conditions.\n
  • Collaborate with patients and families to develop individualized care plans that address their specific needs.\n
  • Update care plans continuously based on patient assessments and communicate changes effectively with the healthcare team.\n
  • Set achievable goals for patient discharge and involve patients / families in the planning process.\n
  • Respect and incorporate cultural, spiritual, and belief systems into care planning.\n
  • Facilitate a smooth transition of care post-discharge, including necessary referrals.\n
  • Deliver direct patient care in accordance with established nursing plans.\n
  • Adhere to all organizational policies in performing nursing tasks and delegate appropriately within the healthcare team.\n
  • Monitor the quality of care provided and adjust nursing practices as needed to ensure optimal patient outcomes.\n
  • Maintain a safe patient environment through compliance with safety procedures and protocols.\n
  • Utilize performance indicators to assess the quality of care and participate in performance improvement initiatives.\n
  • Teach patients and families effectively, ensuring understanding and active participation in their care.\n
  • Act as an advocate for patients, coordinating care collaboratively with healthcare providers.\n
  • Engage in continuous learning and development to enhance professional practice.\n
  • Ensure accurate documentation that supports patient care needs.\n
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned.\n\nSupervisory Responsibility\n
  • This position reports to a manager or director but does not have supervisory responsibilities.\n\nMinimum Requirements\n
  • Education : Associate degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.\n
  • Experience : Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a registered nurse.\n\nIn Lieu Of\n
  • Successful completion of the Prisma Health Nurse Residency Program or a comparable residency may substitute for experience.\n
  • Internal candidates may substitute one year of licensed practical nurse experience within the same service line.\n
  • A nursing diploma with current RN licensure may be accepted in lieu of an Associate degree.\n\nRequired Certifications, Registrations, Licenses\n
