Product Quality Row Crop Specialist

Product Quality Row Crop Specialist. This role will partner across several working teams to enable high quality cotton inventory in both our precommercial and commercial production systems. The individual will partner with key stakeholders including field and plant production, quality labs and enablement teams to ensure our customers receive the high-quality seed that will enable their success on their farm. Specifically, this role will be responsible to ensure that usage decisions are completed for all inventory through establishment of quality spec reviews, oversight of appropriate quality assurance best practices, data collection, leadership reviews and inventory disposition. Core responsibility also includes accountability for LTO in collaboration with Legal and Regulatory teams. In addition, the role will engage in continuous improvement outcomes for cotton that drive improvement in our business metrics.

Your tasks and responsibilities :

  • Develop quality procedures, standards, and specifications for row crop seed products manufactured in North America.
  • Develop and apply usage decisions to supply that results in supply availability and manage leadership exception processes.
  • Partner with Quality Testing and Manufacturing to facilitate product usage decisions, recall / retag processes, and re-probe / re-sampling / re-test decisions / processes.
  • Develop quality parameters for row crop production plant processes.
  • Provide communications and training to sales, customer care, manufacturing, etc. on Bayer quality programs and requirements.
  • Review PPI information and trends to identify opportunities for improvements and develop action plans with key stakeholders.
  • Ensure critical quality data analysis and timely reporting of relevant quality information and metrics to the row crops business (i.e., Control Tower Tier II IV).
  • Drive process owners toward standardized business processes by leveraging our QMS and existing information systems.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive quality programs / processes and alignment to enable delivery of quality seed supply.
  • Some travel required ~ 20%.

Who you are :

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following :

  • Required Qualifications :
  • Bachelor's degree in agriculture, Agronomy, Supply Chain, or related field with 5+ years' experience.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in developing and implementing quality processes with stakeholders and leadership by influence.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in data analysis and reporting.
  • Preferred Qualifications :
  • Knowledge of SAP, GIMS, and Spotfire systems as well as Bayer Commercial and Product Supply processes
  • Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $107,961.60 - $161,942.40. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data / ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
