At Quanta, we're re-thinking the accounting and finance system of record in order to drastically improve how businesses understand their finances.

We are solving a top cited pain point from finance teams, which is that the process of getting the answers they need about their finances is tediously slow. We do so by automating all of the accounting for our users, which not only eliminates painful manual work, but also lets us build up a well-architected financial system of record that provides users clarity in previously opaque areas. We are the full financial source of truth for our users today, and can do in seconds what takes our competitors weeks.

About us

We are a tight-knit team of 13, working in-person in downtown San Francisco.

Our team has spent our careers at the intersection of finance and technology. Between all of us, we’ve built accounting systems at Affirm, ledgers at Stripe, built previous companies from the ground up, built finance teams from one to dozens, and passed CPA exams in multiple states and countries.

About the role

As an early engineer at Quanta, you’ll not only build our product but also shape our culture, team, and strategy. We’re looking for someone who will contribute creatively to our product roadmap, help build a cohesive team, and architect our software.

The qualifications we’re looking for :

A full stack engineer who is able to execute autonomously across the stack on day 1

5+ years of professional software engineering experience at web-scale companies

Drive to deeply understand users to build what’s best for them

Enjoyment of doing product work and defining your own requirements

Ownership mentality across the whole business; don’t need permission to leave things better than you found them

Ability to focus on what matters most in order to ship fast

Excited about working in-person with a collaborative team in our San Francisco office

Excited about the level of intensity and hard work required by an early-stage company

(Bonus) Experience building in React / Typescript and Python

(Bonus) Experience building financial systems of record
