Overview
As a Lead Security Engineer Specialized in Cryptography at Zoom, you will play a key role in designing and overseeing the implementation of encryption algorithms for our video and meeting applications. We are looking for a candidate with deep technical expertise in multiple security sectors and a robust background in cryptography. Experience in the practical implementation of encryption technologies is a plus. You will collaborate with various engineering teams to ensure the development and validation of robust security solutions.
In this role, you will be a champion and an expert in Crypto Design Implementation. Your knowledge will guide engineering teams throughout the organization. You will also serve as a trusted advisor by providing architectural guidance, leading proof of concept implementations, and assisting developers in applying encryption methods. About the Team
The Security Architecture team is committed to ensuring that all Zoom products are secure and compliant. We collaborate with a variety of engineering teams to achieve our security objectives and adhere to established SLAs.
Responsibilities
Offer guidance and expertise in crypto design, implementation, and testing to engineering teams throughout the organization.
Utilize a risk-based approach to prioritize security decisions effectively.
Analyze and identify weaknesses in current solutions and suggest improvements.
Create proof of concept projects or libraries to facilitate seamless integration of crypto services for Zoom developers.
Deliver hands-on training on security and best practices for secure coding related to cryptographic implementations.
Collaborate with peers and leadership to set and execute a comprehensive vision for cryptography at Zoom.
What We Are Looking For
Extensive experience in cryptography across various domains, including symmetric and asymmetric key encryption, key management, secure protocols, and adherence to standards such as NIST guidelines.
Over 5 years of experience in designing and implementing modern encryption systems across diverse technology stacks.
Expert knowledge of encryption and hashing algorithms, including their specific use cases and vulnerabilities in different environments.
Proven experience in developing secure cryptographic implementations.
Comprehensive understanding of software security architecture and design principles, with the ability to articulate application security best practices clearly.
Strong programming expertise in languages and platforms such as Java, JavaScript, Python, C / C++, Objective C, iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac.
A Master's or Ph.D. in cryptography, computer science, mathematics, or a related field is preferred.
Excellent communication skills are essential.
Salary and Benefits
Salary Range :
Minimum : $146,700.00
Maximum : $339,300.00
Starting pay will be determined by various factors, including qualifications and experience.
We also maintain a location-based compensation structure, which may offer different salary ranges depending on the location.
