The Advanced Practice Provider provides independent acute and / or routine medical care to a
specified population, with oversight / supervision from the Medical Director(s) as needed. This is
a full-time position.
Reporting Responsibilities :
- The Advanced Practice Provider reports to the practice Medical Director(s) and Administrator.
- No subordinates report to this position.
Roles and Responsibilities :
Performs comprehensive history and physical exams and identifies normal and abnormal findings, including physical, cognitive, and psychosocial status.Orders and interprets laboratory, screening, and diagnostic tests and procedures.Develops pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical treatment plans and monitors effectiveness of care.Collaborates with interdisciplinary health care teams to diagnose and treat neurological conditions.Educates, counsels, and assists patients and families regarding disease, treatmentplans, health maintenance, and preventive behaviors.Performs procedures as trained and appropriately credentialed.Provides clinical coverage for different services within the organization.Documents accurately and timely within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), including progress notes, procedure notes, admission and transfer orders, and other necessary documentation.Submits billing forms within five days of the patient visit.Facilitates and communicates with patients, families, and staff to promote continuity of care across the continuum of care.Collaborates and / or consults with physicians and other health care providers as appropriate.Attends required training and acquires information on the most current developments and trends in the field through educational programs, in-services, professional associations, and current literature.Participates in developing standardized, evidence-based practice care plans and protocols.Participates in the creation of neurology-specific media posts and articles to share with patients, families, and other clinical professionals.May occasionally provide new patient visits to this patient group.Education :
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution with a minimum education degree of Master of Nursing or Master of Physician Assistant.Current Wisconsin licensure as a registered nurse in the expanded role (NP) orphysician assistant.Current Federal Wisconsin licensures to dispense Controlled Substances.Certification in advanced practice nursing or as a physician assistant.Certification in Basic Life Support.Knowledge / Skills / Experience :
Supports compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and systems.Advanced knowledge of HIPAA guidelines, practices, and procedures.Competence in computer skills (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, email, EHR, etc.).Outstanding written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate clear expectations.Superior organizational and time-management skills; ability to prioritize and delegate responsibilities.Demonstrated ability to mentor and support the professional development of staff members.Commitment to fostering an environment of collaboration, inclusion, and diversity.Professional appearance and excellent communication skills required.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic organization.Benefits :
