Surgical / Room Technologist (Pediatrics) - Syracuse, NY  (#25266)

Location :  Syracuse, NY

Employment Type :  Full-time

Hourly Rate :  $54 / hour

Position Overview :

Provide specialized surgical support for pediatric procedures in a Level I trauma center and academic medical environment. Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal outcomes for pediatric patients across complex specialties.

Qualifications :

  • Education :  Graduate of accredited Surgical Technology program
  • Experience :

    • Minimum 3 years of recent OR experience (within the last 4 years) in :

  • Acute care facilities comparable to Level 1 trauma centers or teaching hospitals
  • Specialty areas such as orthopedics, neurosurgery, trauma, vascular, ENT, bariatric, GU, and GYN
  • Pediatric experience is preferred
  • Scrub experience is required.
  • Technical Skills :
  • Complex pediatric scrub procedures
  • Sterile field maintenance

    • Key Responsibilities :

  • Prepare / sterilize instruments for pediatric surgeries
  • Anticipate surgeon needs during complex procedures
  • Maintain sterile field and adhere to infection protocols
  • Handle specialized pediatric surgical equipment
  • Assist in trauma, orthopedic, and neurosurgical cases
  • Coordinate specimen management and documentation
