Description :

Travel position for CST Scrub Tech specializing in Labor and Delivery.

The unit has a total of 26 beds and 112 staff members.

The team consists of a mix of nurses, scrub techs, and unit clerks.

Day shift includes 1 Team Lead, 14 nurses, 2-3 scrub techs, and 2 unit clerks.

Night shift includes 1 Team Lead, 12 nurses, 2 scrub techs, and 1 unit clerk.

Patient ratios vary :

1 : 1 for high-risk labor and C-sections.

1 : 2 for antepartum, PPROM, PTL on medication, and postpartum on medication.

1 : 3 for postpartum without baby.

Typical equipment used includes Alaris pumps, PCA pumps, and wireless telemetry monitors.

The EMR system utilized is CPN gold.

Candidates without required skills will not be considered for the role.

Candidates with more than 2 years of labor and delivery experience and high-risk LDR experience will be preferred.

Typical procedures performed include C-sections, inductions, amniotic rupture, internal monitors, and Doppler assessments.

Ideal candidates should be hard-working and flexible.

This unit promotes self-scheduling which greatly enhances staff satisfaction.

Team members collaborate effectively to meet staffing needs.

The unit follows a team nursing approach, ensuring mutual support among nurses.

A strong leadership team is in place, supportive of nurses and available to assist on the floor when needed.

The unit has experienced staff with 20-40 years of tenure.

A new program began recently, providing additional support to residency training and triage staff.
