Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President of Facilities to join our team. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with regional leadership on developing and executing on an operations strategy to ensure best-in-class facilities across the regional portfolio.
Key Responsibilities :
- Collaborate closely with regional leadership on developing and executing on an operations strategy to ensure best-in-class facilities across the regional portfolio
- Manage third-party engineering contracts, vendors, and contractors to ensure mission-critical operations and maintenance of laboratory buildings
- Develop and implement five-year capital plans for highly technical facilities
- Develop, maintain, and manage standard operating procedures for new and existing assets, ensuring compliance and a systematic approach to all assets
- Manage competing priorities and allocate and optimize time to ensure targets and timelines are met
- Manage and coordinate vendors in response to service requests by tenants for minor repairs and general facility renovations
- Oversee technology support for buildings, ensuring systems are properly maintained and functioning efficiently
- Ensure that vendors maintain accurate maintenance repair logs and records utilizing company systems
- Recommend capital improvements and operational changes for existing facilities to further corporate sustainability
- Arrange proper communication with tenants to ensure maintenance and repairs are handled properly and efficiently
- Provide or assist in technical support for facilities maintenance working with vendors to maintain building equipment & systems
- Provide or assist in monitoring / troubleshooting building mechanical systems and security systems with some on-call responsibilities
- Provide or assist in the planning and implementation of capital construction projects, as they relate to building support and maintenance
- Coordinate with tenants, tenant contractors, and landlord’s contractors to minimize disruptions or loss of essential services ensuring completion of TI and capital projects
Qualifications and Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, or related technical fieldExtensive knowledge of building systems, systems commissioning, and systems design15+ years of relevant experienceWorking knowledge of property management, building design and / or real estate, with an interest in lab spaceExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Client service orientation and a collaborative work style with cross-functional colleaguesHigh attention to detail and excellent organizational skillsAbility to work on multiple projectsStrong problem-solving and analytical skills, with ability to follow directions effectivelyKnowledge of thermal metering and other utility sub-metering systemsWhat We Offer :
