Job description

Overview

Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential in developing and enforcing policies and procedures that enhance overall system security. Contribute expertise to strategic planning, capacity management, and IT initiatives to support organizational goals; performing related work as apparent or assigned.

Responsibilities

  • General : Assist management with technology planning, evaluate new technology, assist in acquisition and recommend system modifications for improvement.
  • Network : Manage, configure, and monitor the organization\'s network systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection, and secure network gateways; design, configure, deploy and manage wired and wireless network infrastructure; diagnose and resolve connectivity issues; manage user access and permissions.
  • Systems : Administer, configure, and monitor the County\'s security systems; design, configure, deploy, and manage systems and applications; monitor performance; diagnose and resolve issues; oversee identity management and digital certificates; install and troubleshoot on-premise and cloud systems; provide hands-on technical support.
  • Essential Functions (General) : Assist in technology planning, testing, documentation, security enforcement, cross-department coordination, and monitoring / upgrades of systems; maintain documentation and mentor team members; ensure compliance with laws, policies, and best practices; represent the County with integrity in relationships with staff and the public.

Qualifications

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Bachelor\'s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience in enterprise network architecture, strategic planning, project management, cybersecurity; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • CERTIFICATIONS : None
  • Working Conditions

  • Physical : Regular exertion up to 25 pounds; occasional up to 100 pounds.
  • Environmental : Moderate noise; potential exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock.
  • Other : Vision, color perception, and depth perception requirements; detailed data handling and multi-tasking in an office environment.
