Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Neuro ICU Discipline : RN Start Date : 12 / 08 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel Opportunity : RN - ICU Neuro Job Details : Work 12-hour shifts from 7 : 00 AM to 7 : 00 PM or 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 00 AM 4 total weekend shifts required per 4 weeks Holiday coverage based on unit coverage needs Patient ratio of 1 : 2 in ICU, 4 : 1 when floating to telemetry units Must have Level 1 Trauma experience and EVD (External Ventricular Drain) experience 2 years ICU experience required in large hospital (450 beds) 3-6 months travel experience preferred Required certifications : BLS and ACLS Must pass DYS exam prior to accepting position (2 attempts allowed) Pass / fail exam on day 1 of orientation Complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes (pass / fail) Required to float between all ICU floors and telemetry units 2 shifts floor-specific orientation provided Must have strong neuro assessment skills and ICP monitoring experience Work with Cerner EMR system and Phillips monitors Scrub color requirement : steel grey for neuro floors Must have natural hair color, no facial piercings, and men must be clean shaven for fit test Travel teams must have their own vehicles May be placed on standby for scheduled shifts Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment Facility : This major medical center houses one of the world's largest neurological disease treatment and research institutions, consistently ranked as one of the best neurosurgical training centers in the United States. The facility is a Level 1 Trauma center with a 32-bed Neuro ICU that specializes in complex neurological cases including craniotomies, brain tumor removal and ablations, brain biopsies, complicated spine surgeries, and scoliosis repair. The hospital provides 24 / 7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy services, with charge nurses who do not take patient assignments to focus on unit management.
