JOB SUMMARY
Location : BSWH Medical Center, Grapevine, TX
Department : Sleep Center
Shift : Evening shift with some flexibility
Preferred Experience : Must have at least 2 years as an EEG technologist
The Neurodiagnostic Technologist 2 will perform test set up, electrode application, and maintain patient safety during clinically significant events and other related duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
Responsible for complete and accurate patient preparation, data acquisition, analysis, and providing a safe testing environment.
Complies with applicable policies and procedures, adheres to infection control and safety guidelines, protects and maintains patient privacy and confidentiality, and ensures safe work and care environment for self and patients.
Observes proper body mechanics while performing work area duties and patient care.
Adapts methods for instrumentation to obtain optimal results based on history, clinical observations, and test findings.
Demonstrates some knowledge of neuroanatomy and physiology, basic electronics, electrical safety, basic computer skills, END instrumentation, pattern recognition and various medical and pharmacological conditions that influence the EEG recording.
Demonstrates knowledge of appropriate action in an emergent situation.
Maintains equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards. Will troubleshoot to ensure optimal operational capabilities of equipment.
Reports issues to management or appropriate department.
Is available for On Call as assigned.
