In about five years of employment with a good work ethic, you can qualify for Parks supervisory positions after obtaining a Commercial Driver's License and taking civil service tests earning potentially $100K with overtime per year. While gaining experience working at Parks, you will have access to the training, experience, and resources to support you in getting your Commercial Driver's License and passing civil service tests. We operate more than 800 athletic fields and nearly 1,000 playgrounds, 1,800 basketball courts, 550 tennis courts, 65 public pools, and 51 recreational facilities.

Major Responsibilities :

• Assist in general maintenance work, including lawn mowing, edging, seeding, snow removal, cultivating, fertilizing, sod laying and hedge trimming, sweeping and raking of litter and emptying of receptacles.
• Clean and maintain facilities, including public restrooms.
• Perform minor repair work including, but not limited to, plumbing, masonry, electrical, painting, carpentry, metal work and vehicle and equipment repair.
• Drive vehicles and operate other motorized equipment.
• Perform safety checks on facilities and equipment.
• May move furniture, climb and perform other physical activities as required in the performance of assigned duties.

Duration : January 2026 to October 2026 Work Location : Aramark 850 East 138th Street, Bronx Fees : Hired candidates will be subject to a processing fee of $68.00. Hired candidates who are not currently employed by the City will be subject to a $101.25 background check fee.

Residency Requirement

Residency in New York City, Nassau, Orange, Rockland, Suffolk, Putnam or Westchester counties required for employees with over two years of city service. New York City residency required within 90 days of hire for all other candidates.
