Job Description

Position : Associate Attorney – Litigation

Segal & Amos, PLLC, a respected Charleston-based personal injury and civil litigation firm, seeks a full-time Associate Attorney with litigation experience to join our team. We handle a wide range of complex cases, including personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, and insurance bad faith litigation.

Responsibilities

Handle all aspects of civil litigation, from intake through trial and appeal.
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda.
Conduct and defend depositions of parties, experts, and witnesses.
Attend court hearings, mediations, and trials.
Manage client communications and case strategy in coordination with senior attorneys.
Perform legal research and case analysis.
Contribute to trial preparation, including exhibit organization, witness preparation, and first / second chair.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Active member in good standing of the West Virginia State Bar (or eligibility for admission).

2+ years of litigation experience preferred (personal injury or insurance litigation experience strongly valued).

Excellent writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.

Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
