Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an acute care hospital position, requiring BLS and a state license, with experience in diverse patient populations.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in an acute care hospital setting with a primary inpatient focus
  • Provide therapy services to medicine, surgery, orthopedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary, and oncology patient care areas
  • Monday through Friday schedule, 7 : 00am-3 : 30pm, with start time flexibility up to 8 : 00am
  • One weekend (Saturday and Sunday) required every four weeks, with a weekday off during the applicable week
  • EPIC is used for documentation, and related experience is required for certain units
  • Floating may occur within any therapy service line within the hospital
  • No floating to sister facilities is required
  • Responsibilities include assessment, documentation, patient and family education, and safety and injury prevention
  • Position involves floating within the scope of therapy service lines as needed
  • Scrub color is black or grey
  • Role is open to first-time travelers
  • No on-call required
  • Up to 7 days of requested time off permitted within a 13-week contract, with no time off the first week
  • Permanent employees must wait 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
  • Standard travelers may stay up to 18 months with a required 3-month break after the assignment
  • Travelers will receive parking information during orientation, with paid parking options available
  • Modules and orientation activities are completed pre-start
  • Facial hair must allow for proper fit testing if required

  • Current state PT license required; license required if applicable
  • BLS certification required
  • At least 1 year of recent acute care PT experience required
  • Experience with a variety of patient populations including medicine, surgery, orthopedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary, and oncology required
  • Strong communication skills necessary
  • EPIC charting experience required for certain units
  • Must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • Pending state license accepted for certain locations as permitted
