Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAs a Staff Electrical Distribution System Engineer at Zoox, you’ll play a key role in designing one of the most advanced wiring harness systems ever built into a vehicle, while also providing technical leadership to the team. Working within the highly collaborative Electrical Systems Team, you’ll help ensure seamless communication between controllers, sensors, and subsystems, critical for the safe and reliable operation of our autonomous vehicles. You’ll be instrumental in shaping design guidelines, implementing best practices, and driving process improvements across the full development lifecycle, mentoring junior engineers and guiding technical direction. This is an opportunity to help define the future of mobility and bring Zoox’s vision for autonomous transportation to life.In this role, you will :

• Own the end-to-end design of complex low-voltage and high-speed wiring harnesses using CATIA V5 / V6, ensuring quality, compliance, and manufacturability
• Define and manage processes for device transmittals, schematics, and 3D harness routing across the product lifecycle
• Develop best practices and provide technical guidance to junior engineers to continuously improve electrical distribution design methodologies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define low-voltage distribution system requirements, endpoints and interfaces
• Lead supplier engagements and drive continuous improvement within the electrical engineering function

Base Salary Range

There are three major components to compensation for this position : salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. The listed range applies only to the base salary. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position. Zoox also offers a comprehensive package of benefits, including paid time off (e.g. sick leave, vacation, bereavement), unpaid time off, Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights, Amazon RSUs, health insurance, long-term care insurance, long-term and short-term insurance, and life insurance.
