Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the integrity and accuracy of our client's financial reporting. This position plays a key role in maintaining the general ledger, supporting monthly and year-end close activities, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies. The ideal candidate will enjoy working cross-functionally to gather data, analyze financial results, and provide clear, timely insights to leadership and other stakeholders.
Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and monthly account analyses to ensure financial accuracy.
Record and maintain journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation, in full compliance with GAAP.
Support the month-end close process, including preparation of schedules, variance analysis, and reporting deliverables.
Partner with external auditors by providing required documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
Manage fixed asset accounting, including tracking capital expenditures, recording additions and disposals, and reconciling subledgers and operational records.
Perform daily cash reconciliations, process adjustments, and complete monthly bank reconciliations.
Handle prepaid expense accounting, including journal entries, schedules, and tracking.
Assist in developing and refining accounting procedures and internal controls to enhance process efficiency and accuracy.
Support additional projects and tasks as needed within the finance department.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within public accounting or a corporate finance environment.
Solid understanding of GAAP
