Texas Nursing Job Details

Location : Lubbock, TX 79410 (West Texas)

Assignment Length : 13-week travel nursing contract

Start Date : December 15, 2025

Shift : 12-hour night shifts (7 : 00 PM - 7 : 00 AM), 3 shifts / week

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1770 - $1900

Healthcare Setting : Short Term Acute Care, Orthopedic Trauma Unit

Patient Ratio : 1 : 6

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact license accepted; must be in hand at submission)

Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg Tele RN experience

Previous travel nursing experience required

Proficiency with Epic charting system

Community hospital experience required

Trauma Level II experience preferred

BLS certification required

Ability to float between units and sister facilities

Two supervisory references from the last three years

Willingness to work 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

Solid navy blue scrubs required for licensed nursing personnel

Med / Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients in a 30-bed orthopedic trauma unit

Manage post-operative patients, including blood administration, wound vac management, and orthopedic trauma care

Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias; respond to rapid response / code teams

Administer oxygen therapy (including high-flow nasal cannula), peripheral line care, and non-invasive airway management

Perform phlebotomy, wound care, and management of total joint replacements and traction

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams : physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and social services

Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR

Follow isolation precautions and infection control protocols

Float to other nursing units or sister facilities as needed
