Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Critical Care Float RN with ICU and ED experience for night shifts in an acute care setting, requiring a CO or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

  • Float pool role primarily covering ICU and ED in an acute care hospital
  • Night shifts (4x12 hours), 18 : 00-06 : 00
  • Required to float to a sister facility 15 minutes away as needed
  • Patient ratios typically 1 : 2
  • Weekend shifts required every other weekend
  • Care of ventilated patients, para / thoracentesis, intubation, central line and arterial line placement required
  • Utilizes MediTech Expanse for charting
  • Participation in rapid response teams is required for ICU nurses
  • Employee may choose preferred scrub color
  • Flu shot required during flu season (October 1 - March 31)
  • Free parking is available in any unrestricted space
  • Strict limits on time off : no RTO in first two weeks, maximum 10 days, no full calendar weeks

    • Requirements

  • Active CO or compact RN license in hand is required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU and ED experience required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; NIH and TNCC certifications are preferred
  • Prior travel RN experience is required
  • Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Ability to float between facilities within 15 minutes distance
