Equipment Operator

We are currently seeking experienced safety-conscious Equipment Operators to join the team at Travis County Landfill in Austin, TX. Previous landfill or waste experience would be a huge plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate. The position is a Day Shift working Monday through Friday start time 6am-5 : 30pm with occasional Saturdays working 50-60 hours a week.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Perform maintenance around the site and facilities as needed
• Spreading and compacting trash using a compactor
• Spreading daily cover using a dozer
• Excavating soil using an excavator
• Hauling soil

Working Conditions and Physical Effort :

The work environment is an outdoor landfill setting. The employee will work near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions and vibrations. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Areas are clean, ventilated, and well lit.
