If you have previous experience performing housekeeping services in a hospital, health care facility, commercial or business setting, and are interested in becoming part of a team working for the County of San Diego, this may be the job that you have been looking for. Interviews will take place on Tuesdays. Candidates are eligible for hire at $48,776 annually. Future salary increases are planned for June 2026 and June 2027.

The Health and Human Services Agency is looking for qualified applicants for Healthcare Agency Housekeeper to independently perform housekeeping services within assigned area(s) of a hospital and / or other healthcare facility where patients may be present. Immediate vacancies are at the following locations : Edgemoor Distinct Part-Skilled Nursing Facility, 655 Park Center Drive, Santee, CA and San Diego County Psychiatric Hospital, 3853 Rosecrans St., San Diego, CA 92110.

Job offers for selected candidates will be made shortly after the interviews. Candidates should be prepared to immediately complete background paperwork, upon receipt of a job offer. Note : Current county employees may be excluded from additional background screening.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively, be willing to work holidays, weekends, and rotating shifts, be able to work in areas with potential exposure to caustic chemicals, contagious diseases, and occasionally violent and hostile people or patients with mental illness.
