We're seeking a Family Office Manager to join our Family Office team within Mid Market Outsourcing. This role provides the opportunity to manage a portfolio of family office and private client clients, including multiple entities, alternative investments, complex equity structures, and trust accounting. You'll guide staff, develop client relationships, and oversee high-quality financial reporting.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and coordinate with staff for timely and accurate monthly finance and accounting services for family office clients.
- Provide technical expertise in US GAAP, multi-entity accounting, investment and fund accounting, alternative investments, and trust accounting.
- Oversee financial statement preparation and review, including consolidated reporting and supporting schedules for multiple entities.
- Liaison with external auditors, internal advisors, and client decision-makers.
- Lead client onboarding and transition, including process setup, allocation of resources, and staff training.
- Foster proactive relationships with clients and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Coach and mentor staff consultants and senior consultants, supporting their technical and professional growth.
- Participate in business development efforts, including prospect meetings, pricing, and drafting engagement letters.
- Lead or participate in accounting software implementations and integrations (Sage Intacct preferred).
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting and finance, including GL, AP, AR, payroll, budgeting / forecasting, and reconciliations.Experience managing accounting for multiple entities (1050+) and / or investment portfolios.Knowledge of equity and capital account management and alternative investments.Strong analytical and accounting skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to explain complex financial information clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.Proficiency with multiple accounting systems (Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero) and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).Ability to prioritize, work independently, and meet deadlines in a client-focused environment.Flexibility to work from home while collaborating in person half the time.Preferred Qualifications
CPA or CMA license.Proven experience managing family office, private client, fund administration, or multi-entity accounting teams.Experience implementing, improving, or scaling accounting systems and processes.Strong leadership, client management, and business development skills.Knowledge of trust accounting.
